UK Premiere and pre-launch screening

We were very honoured to be able to host our UK Premiere on 11th July 2016 in London, sponsored by Lush Cosmetics and co-hosted by Peace Brigades International UK, at Unite the Union's Diskus auditorium. Accompanied by some fifty or sixty guests, we had a film screening followed by a panel discussion with directors Gwen Burnyeat and Pablo Mejía Trujillo, as well as some words on the commercial relationship between the Peace Community and Lush from their buying manager Gabbi Loedolff. Audience members were keen to ask about the current state of the Colombian peace process, as well as to reflect on the co-responsibility we all have in Europe in generating violence in countries like Colombia, and our potential agency to take better decisions about what we buy and consume in order to contribute to combating violence. Following the panel, we had a wine reception with vegan and vegetarian canapés from Ethos Foods.

But the London launch fun actually kicked off a day beforehand, with our pre-launch screening at the Lush flagship store on Oxford Street, on 10th July. We screened the film to a bunch of Lush customers who wandered in off the street, some Lush staff, and some friends of Lush, of the Peace Community and of the directors, while drinking incredible chocolate margaritas prepared in store... We had a Q&A with Gwen Burnyeat, Pablo Mejía and Gabbi Loedolff of Lush, and everyone went home with a freshly prepared chocolate cupcake face mask in a jar...
